The KCA and ACI Kentucky Chapter present an open discussion on some of the challenges with quality control on concrete mixes. This idea exchange is to minimize the effects of sampling errors or false negative or positive tests; and to promote TEAMWORK on collaborative ways to make more consistent and high-quality concrete. ACI certification, pre-pour meetings, pumping concrete, team responsibilities, sampling and much more will be discussed.
Forum will end with a panel discussion of the main issues that arise from the day's discussions. The panel will feature:
Chris Kaufmann, P.E., Structural Engineer, Parsons Corporation, 10 years concrete materials;
Chad Snellen, P.E., Exec. VP East and Westbrook, 30 plus years in engineering and construction;
Adam Sears, 20 plus years experience in materials testing, geotechnical projects and drilling; and
Brett Deters, Technical Services Manager, Hilltop Companies, 20 plus years in concrete materials and quality control.
